Hello,
I'm still new here and I need a help from the experts.

I just bought Esi-Esp1010e audio interface. I wanted to used it for multi track recording (especially drums track, 7-8 mics).

I need to know how to use it & separate all the drum tracks in software (currently we use Cooledit Pro, Adobe Audition & Sonar). Did I need pre-amp?
We try to recorded directly to analog input in the interface but no signal at all.

We use old Yamaha AG16 Digital mixer. Can use it as a preamp?

If anyone can help me by show me some diagram or simple picture of the setup connection. What else we need to do?

Your ESI interface has only two microphone inputs and would require external mic preamps to simultaneously record more than two channels.
The Yamaha AG 16 should be able to act as a mic preamp. I am not familiar with either unit, but it looks like the Yamaha has line level outputs
for each individual channel.

You should be able to connect the individual channel line outs on the AG16 to the line level inputs in the ESI interface using a trs->trs cable.
Both manuals should come with some basic connection diagrams that should aid in properly connecting the two units.
