error # 6. what the......?

hi you all. i've had my md 8 for about 2 months now, barely longer than the return policy.uuugh, and now i have an intermitant error # 6 showing up. i've read about the vacuum thing and tried it but the error has come back again. does anyone know what error # 6 meens. i could definately use some guidance here. thank you to no ends. joshua.

I've had mine machine for about a year and it recently started doing this. I don't know what it means either but I usually just eject the disc and go back to where I was and everything's back to normal.

Yo Hi-O-Silverman:

You know you might just have a "bad" disc? When I had a slight problem, I can't remember if error#6 came up on the screen; but, I do know that "Disc Error" came up. So, I used the vacuum cleaner and have not had a problem with that disc, a Sony, since.

You might try getting a Yam tekkie on the net and post the problem. They usually answer but sometimes their answer poses another question. [What's new?]

Ya'll are gonna curse me. I've had my MD-8 for about a year now and have NEVER run into an error.

Just thought y'all might wanna know that...



(yes, i actually record shit. right up until tomorrow, when the Yammie curse undoubtedly will strike...)
