hey y'all...

i'm a newbie to this... and not sure if this is the right place to be asking.. lol

but do any of you know the schematics for silhouette special?
I got my bridge changed to a hotrail but i want to go back to my single coil....
and i heard it is different wiring than the strat cuz of the 'silent circuit' system it has whacha call 'insane' five way pickup.. from what i heard.. lol

so if any of you can help me out on this, it'll be so much appreciated~!

I love my Sillouette Special. I've got a humbucker in the bridge. I might change it out for something a little more beefier.

well, when i went to guitar center before, he said my guitar had a weird wiring.. like position one would be 1 and 2, 2nd would be like 1& 3.. i don't know.. and i was like.. wha?... but is 'silent circuit' the reason that he might have thought the pickups weren't wired well?

yea, i love my ernie ball.. it sounds awesome...
i can never get tired of playing that thing... but right now, i've got mah guitar signed by like three of my fav. artist and been wanting to change the pick guard so i can play iwthout the fear of smudging the signatures....
so what kind of pick ups are you trying to put? you have a stock pick up right now for the bridge?

Guitar Center... good hell... the guys at the one here don't know shit about the technical stuff on the EBall stuff. I bought mine from a small music store that has a close relationship with EB. They get a lot of the big names doing clinics and shit. And the guy is a great guitar tech to begin with. So he's the doing my pickup swap. He also mentioned the tricky wiring. I'm also having him add the piezo bridge that the new Sillouettes have.

Which artists signed? That's pretty kick ass.

well i got mah guitar signed by three of mah fav. "christian" artist.. not sure if you will know them.. but one you should definitely check out would be Lincoln Brewster.. he is AWESOME.. he is like a blues/rock style and if you love that genre (who doesn't.. lol ) you should def. check him out..

I've owned 4 Sillhouettes. I know them pretty well. First off.... run from the "silent circuit" - it is crap. If you are re-wiring yours, don't try to incorporate it. Just ditch it and use regularly wired pickups. It does kill the hum, but it also kills the attack and life of any pickup it touches.
Silhouettes are wonderful axes. They are comfy and well-made. However, thier stock single-coils suck. Period. As long as you are re-wiring it, get a nice set of Van Zandts or Fender Fat 50's or something.
You will thank yourself later.

i got them for 650 on ebay and it was a sweet deal that's why i got em..

and about the hotrails, yea he didn't know about the silent circuit thingie but he did mention that because of that wiring the hotrail couldn't kick in as much, and he told me, after he changed to a normal 'strat' five way, the hotrail sounded like it should have..

so i guess i didn't lose much as for not having silent circuit eh? whew.. i was worried if i messed up a good wiring.. ^^;
so i don't need the batteries? yay!!! heh heh

besides the stocks (sss), i really dig this guitar but i would def. recommend ppl to change the pickups...
right now i'm broke.. so i'll have to wait i guess. .lol

what kind of pick ups would you recommend?

My favorite single coils are Van Zandts. If you are in Australia, isn't that guy that makes the good silent single coils from Australia too? Crap.... what was his name??? Is it Kinman? You could probably find a set of those locally.

its good eh? i'll check'em out.. his pickups are a little bit cheaper than the antiquity so i'll probably go with that.. heheh
