I have a jingle that i need to redo the vocals on.
The problem is all I have is a stereo mix complete with vocals ...6 differ[MP3][/MP3]ent cuts with vocals jingling in on some and jingling out on others but none of just the music. So, to get a complete music bed with no vocals I have taken a cut that has singing on the front end only and a cut that has singing on the back end only....I put one cut on the 1st track of a project and the other cut on track 2.
I want to mute (or erase) the part of each respective track that has singing on it and combind them to achieve a music bed with no vocals.

I have the two tracks side by side in cubase but I can't figure out how to erase just a small part of the track. Everytime I attempt it the whole track gets erased and I have to undo.

I am very limited in my knowledge of cubase and can't make heads nor tails of the instructions. I'm on a deadline to get this jingle finished and any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could just resize them. Make sure snap is turned off if the cuts aren't right on a beat. It's the >|< button on the top tool bar. You could always use the cut tool and put the two pieces in the same track too. That's the scissors button.

Thanks man. i think the scissors are what im cooling for.
But when I cut out the singing part of the 2 tracks...how do I put the 2 fragments together as one track?

tI just used the scissors to mark the spot and then erased the vocal part...then I drug the part with no vocals to the original track....it work perfectly
