Hello,

I've been working in a poorly ventilated basement lately. I have my rack equipment in a road case, including a UA 2-610 and an Avalon AD2022. The two units get pretty hot by the end of a session, and I'm wondering if this is a serious problem, or just a normal occurance for rack equipment? I can't really describe how hot they get, not scolding hot, but very warm to the touch. Should I be concerned about this and possibly think about buying a rack fan, or is the equipment built to withstand this kind of heat? Each unit is separated on the rack by an empty space on both top and bottom.

By leaving a space, you've done plenty, probably more than you have to, even, unless the manual says to leave a space. Gear gets hot. :)

CPU Fan

You could always get yourself a couple of cheap 12V CPU fans & a wall wart power supply and vent the dang thing.
