Ok, I have the option to buy a Lexicon 550 for about $150 from a friend of mine. If I just mainly compose track (hip-hop) using a Mpc200xl, Roland xp-80 and Triton Rack thru midi onto cubase sx how would I go about using the effects on the different tracks. Is It possible.

If you have the available tracks, just record the effects one instrument at a time onto new tracks. You could do this two ways: one would be to record the instrument+fx onto a track (or pair of tracks, if stereo), but this means you are stuck with that exact amount of wet/dry mix. The more flexible way is to record just the signal from the fx box (100% wet) onto a seperate track from the dry instrument. This lets you adjust the wet/dry mix later in case you need to make changes.
