Currently, i have my Fostex FD8 Multi track, and ADA mp1 preamp. I'm looking to get some drum sound. Can not decide whether i consider to buy drum machine (SR16 or DR770) or keyboard.

Fruity Loops with free samples online. Give it a shot before you spend any big bucks.

Why not go to a music store and try both out?

I have a larger studio, and have both dedicated machines as well as synths that have drums. But how I made my choices is by listening.

I agree with A1A2....

for the money, Fruity Loops will blow any prosumer grade drum machine clean out of the water.

If you have good samples, it can be very very convincing.

Like most drum machines/samplers, the cymbals are always a giveaway, but it is still a very nice sounding program.

Use the latest version I suppose..

Yeah... use the most recent version... from what I've heard (listening to friends with newer versions), they have reduced latency, increased effect quality etc etc with the newer versions.
