Here I have a list of equipment I am woundering if there are any reccomedations for tracking a band. And remember Im on a tight budget.

What I have:
digi002 PT
G5 dual 1.8 1.5 GIG of ram

What I'm looking at:
Focusrite baby Octopre 8 channel A/D or Presonus digimaxLT 8 channel A/D pre

A vocal preamp 1 or 2 channel

Event 20/20 monitors

Glyph 050160

And a couple of studio snakes 1 16 feet and the other 23 feet.

and for mics I have a friend that can get me mics from his school to bring out to use.

As long as you have a room and the band brings in their own equipment you should be alright. Looks like you'll be set to track up to 16-channels so that should be adequate. You may want to look into getting a headphone amp and some headphones to allow monitoring during tracking if you're running the bass direct or have the guitar cabinets isolated in a separate room.

Yea thats anothering thing, headphones and headphones amps. I have a seperate room for drums and guitar so I'll have to send headphones to both rooms...and thoughts on that?

Yep, get a headphone amp. Behringer makes a decent cheap one; and some affordable cans (MoreMe, Sennheiser HD212Pro, etc.). Pickup some headphone extension cables at Radio Shack and you should be in business.

It is worth the money to get one set of good isolation phones. I use the Vic Firth set that cost about $49 The drummer will really love you for this because he/she will be able to hear the band instead of just the drums.

Great, thank you, now what about everything else on the list.

I'd say the rest of the list looks ok for just starting out. You haven't listed any mics but said your buddy would supply everything you need so I'm taking your word on that.
