can any1 tell me exactly what equipment i would need to build a studio to produce techno music. cheap and expensive alternatives if possible.
cheers

Computer.
Software, Reason mabye.

This is the simplest way, but of course you can get as complicated and expensive as you want. Do you want racks of outboard gear? All software? Both? Niether:eek:

It really depends, you need to be more specific.

I'll just give you the example of my system:

I write Breaks (for the most part) and everything is arranged and sequenced in Acid Pro.

Software
Acid Pro 4.0
Sound Forge 6.0
Prosoniq TimeFactory
Waves Native Gold Bundle 3.5 and Masters Bundle 1.0
Sonic Timeworks Reverb 4080L and Delay 6022
TC Native Reverb
Native Instruments B4, FM7 and Pro52
Emagic EVP73
Various one-shot percussion sample discs

Hardware
Barefoot Sound monitors and active subs
Modified NAD 2200 amp
PIII 1.13 GHz running Win2000
Echo Layla24
Korg MS2000R
Yamaha DX21
Rane TTM 54
Fender Stratocaster and Twin Reverb amp
Barefoot Sound mic and preamp

Stuff I want to get in the near future:

Korg Triton or Yamaha Motif?
Build a new and improved set of monitors
More acoustic modifications to my studio
Build a vocal booth
Turntable
Lots more sample discs

What is your budget my friend?

to be honest i am looking to buy bits and bobs until i reach a full studio as i dont have the money to buy everything in 1 go. i would like to start on a computer programme and then naturally progress.
thanks for any help
