Is it good to EQ a track you've recorded in Multitrack after the mixdown or just leave it as is?

It's good to make a copy of the original take and work on that instead of the original. Then you can screw around with it all you like, and no damage done to the original.
When you're mixing, do EQ before you do levels, because altering EQ will affect levels.
