I am recording my Yamaha DTX to my Tascam MK488II.

Since I have the option of EQ'ing internally, what levels should I put eq pods at?

Also internally what should the levels be? I have a low level, a mid and a high.

Thanks!

There is no standard way of setting an EQ.. you just use it to adjust the tonal balance if needed.. What you mean by "internal" I leave for someone else to figure out.....

Really....

Thanks Mr. Obvious! Now tell me something I don't know.

I wanted a start point, do I leave them all in the middle and tweak from there?

Internally (that means inside) my DTX, I can set EQ levels 3 different ways "Low" (it goes from 50 to 2.5 (I think)),"Mid", and "High". You can set these three for different frequencies?

Hmmm... pretty snarky there fita, considering the answer Meshuggah gave you was perfectly right...............

Your "starting point" is no eq - ie, flat - ie, not adding any tonal changes........ how your EQ pots are oriented to be "flat" or "off" is totally dependent on your mixer, multi-track or whatever you're using. Usually, the flat-detent is in the center.... CHECK YOUR MANUAL!

That's what I needed!

Sorry! But I have no manual plus I don't read (comprehend) so swell.

All I needed was someone to tell me "set it in the middle moron!" . Not, "hey dipshit you set it so it sounds right."

Thanks,
