EQ on computers

i am considering running the master outs of a mixer into the line in on my sound card. As stated before everything should be set flat so the mixer adds the proper amount of EQ and nothing else. How exactly do you know when the computer output is "flat"???

Good question, and the answer is that most sound cards have no tone controls so it's already effectively set at "flat".
