EQ Changing?

Say Something Smart!
I'm using Adobe Audition, and I've recorded 2 guitar tracks, one a DI, and one mic'ed.
I have the EQ settings set differently on both tracks, but something fishy is happening.
When I view the EQ settings for the DI'ed track, the sound changes, and when I view the EQ Settings for the mic'ed track, the sound changes again!

Could it be because I'm playing the song back as I'm viewing the settings. I didn't touch them when they changed though.

Any ideas?

I don't guess I'm understanding your question. If you have the EQ's set differently, then they both SHOULD change...unless you're saying that one track is EQ'd and the other is not EQ'd, which would technically be 2 different EQ's I guess.

'splain it to me more better...lol.

[edit] One thing you might be talking about is when you open an EQ box on a track so it shows your curve, if you click on a different track, it'll show the EQ for THAT track. If you're not careful and you forget which track is highlighted, you can EQ the wrong track pretty easily.

Sorry Chris, let's try this again. :)

I have both tracks EQ'd differently, and they're both playing together. When I open up the EQ settings for Track 1, the sound changes, but I did not change the EQ settings. The same happens when I view the EQ settings of Track 2.

If I understand you now, then that is bizarre. If both tracks are playing, and you have an EQ window open, and you click on say the first git track, you should just see the EQ that's on it...the sound shouldn't change one iota. Same thing when you click on the 2nd git track...you'll see the window change, b/c it has a different EQ, but the sound shouldn't change at all.

I'm stumped.

Right, glad you understand it now!

I'll be fiddling with it later, and I'll see if I can come up with anything.

Thanks for the effort Chris! :D
