Epiphone pickups

Are the P-90 type pu's in the Epi Les Paul any good?? Or would it be an issue of having to buy new pu's which would come out at alomost the price of the guitar itself??? Just wondering. I have played an original Gold top so I have some frame of reference. I have not played the Epi version. Thanks.

No takers today?? I realize my generalization as to "good" is kinda vague. Just want know if I spring for one is there a "required or superior alternative" (of course there is a superior alternative.... note to self) Anybody got one of these???
