It was in this months mars lustbook. and Ive tried it out and wish to make a purchase of this fine ax.

Before I do that is there any reason why I shouldnt be joined with this beutiful semihollow beauty? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

I was shopping for a semi-hollowbody about a year ago and I played the Dot. I only played one but I was quite impressed with the guitar. The clean sound was clear and warm, and I think I remember liking the neck. I ended up buying a Hamer Echotone which is another Korean-made 335 knockoff, because it just spoke to me. It was more money...$500 to be exact. Had I not found it I probably would have bought the Dot. I have played Gibson ES-335's and they are very good....but, if I was to buy another Gibson it would probably be another Les Paul.

I happen to like the red Dot.....it looks kind of classic. Sort of like the 335 that Larry Carlton helped popularize.

Go Chiefs.

So how do you think we will do this year with the '99 rams wearing our uniforms. Just to think in just 11 short hours we will be beating the Raiders.

Al Davis is our bitch....always has been, always will be.:) I just hope we get the game here in San Diego. I might have to go to a sports bar to watch it. I grew up going to the Chiefs games(I'm from Topeka) and I'm pretty much a fan for life. A very patient fan.

...and you were saying the Rams and Chiefs fit in with the discussion of the ES 335 how?

It's doesn't fit in. Darrin is in K.C. and I am a Chiefs fan and I was kind of excited about football season starting today. My bad.

i never cared much for the 335's or the casinos, they feedback like hell....and thats not the good feedback either. although i guess you can stuff the hollow body full of socks.
i thought about getting one once and sanding off the finish while i messed around with the idea of recording a double album with a plain white album cover with our name on it. my new wife broke up my band though before it happened.

I told you she was evil........but would you listen?....nope..............Paul

yoko is a nutball and her kid, sean, is a degenerate riding on his dad's name.
why wont my post count break 38??? ive posted close to 50 i presume. ah well:)

you could do worse...

The Epi-Dot is a nice guitar, especially for the $. Every semi-hollow I've seen makes you be careful with the feedback. I haven't tried the Hamer so I've nothing to say on it. Check out the gear reviews on http://www.harmony-central.com . They might help.
Recap: Good guitar, low bucks.

The Epiphones are made by Samick. I saw many of the Semi-hollow models being made in the Korean plant (Epiphones and many others). I don't like the Indonesia models as a general rule (they are ment to be cheap) but the stuff coming out of the Korean plant has taken huge leaps in quality over the last few years.

I bought a Hollow body Samick while on a trip recently and love it. Memphissound is right about watching feedback. These kinds of guitars are not suited for every kind of stuff but if it's the sound your looking for, go for it.

Epi 335

RUN...don't walk to pick it up. I got one last year...cherry with gold hardware. No, it's not a Gibson. But when I plugged this thing into my 1966 Bassman and 2x12...it SCREAMED! Likewise through the '65 Super REverb. PIckups are a bit muddy at times, but still beautiful when it counts. Hardware is a bit cheap (which is why it's $300, not $2500), and the frets needed a bit of help. If you have access to a good guitar repair guy (or gal for that matter), check out having the frets propoerly dressed (3 corner file method). That is teh other way they save $ on building these things...nto a real professional setup. Other than that...BUY IT.

I like the Casino but wish it was an inch thicker. Guess then it'd be a 335. :D

This will be the year of a Raider Nation!

Scriabin, posts in the Cave don't bump your count.
