Returned from the dead
Ok so I'm on my old laptop and for some reason my system volume information folder is growing at an alarming rate. I have a 40GB HD with less than 5GB of information on it, yet my SVI folder can eat up that other 35GB within an hour...

From what I understand the SVI folder is used for system restore and for the file indexing service... both of which I have disabled and yet it keeps growing.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I'm stumped :(

Most likely explanation I can think of is some sort of Virus.

Yeah but it started doing this on a fresh install of windows XP.
I formatted the HD thinking that maybe it was a virus and installed the same version of WinXP that I've always used and when windows started up for the very first time on this new install it immediately started doing it again.

Another weird thing is, it stopped growing. I kept deleting all the junk that was piling up every hour or so but yesterday it just stopped growing. IDK what I did...
