A friend pointed me to this product (http://www.cyber-bridge-marine.com/engine-room-vinyl-foam-soundproofing.html). It's apparently used for soundproofing boat engine rooms.

My house furnace sits close to my studio so the noise is apparent when it kicks in. I'm getting some quotes to get somebody move the furnace to the unused garage. Anyway, I'm wondering if moving the unit is the best choice on the long run or to enclose the unit with something like the mentioned product. What do you guys think?

They have some fiberglass panels there as well. I'm not sure how it compares to the OC stuff but they look the same.

Well obviously moving it will take away the most amount of noise, but it will cost much less to build something using this stuff or something else like this... Well if you do it right the prices may even out.

daluyon,

Where is the combustion air for your boiler coming from?
