I have been given information that I definitely need to disable the "Emulated" drivers, in CubaseSX. Not knowing how to go about doing this I downloaded the operations manual, and searched through it for what was needed. As the manual is in PDF format, I was afforded the opportunity to initiate a 'search' on the above. However, there were no results offered. If anyone has information on how to disable these drivers, and set the program up for the REAL drivers to surface - I would be most appreciative for it.

Devices > Device setup > VST Multitrack ..... select the appropriate ASIO driver for your soundcard.
ASIO DirectX Full Duplex and ASIO Multimedia are the Steinberg generic drivers.
If those above two drivers are the only ones listed, then you don't have ASIO drivers for your soundcard or you haven't installed them.

Out of curiosity, why do you need a .pdf of the manual?
Do you not have the hard copy?
It should have been included with your purchase of the program.

See my thread-starter CubaseSX(H2) and read through my responses. This will very clearly explain why I don't have a hard copy of the manual.

Ah, right. Cracked.
Good luck with it.

Crankz1,

I truly knew nothing about this "cracked" business, but am grateful that someone thought enough about my Sonar dilemma to help me sort the causative issue out. I needed to know if the problem that I was experiencing was software or hardware based. And the only way (that I knew) in which to really make that determination was by trying out another sequencing program with my equipment. Am I going to 'stay-my-ground', here, with CubaseSX? No, I won't. Even though it appears to be solid, I am definitely looking to purchase SX3 (or whatever version is current) after my new computer is realised. But I won't come back with any more questions on this "H2" that I have.

I, none-the-less, appreciate your (and everyone's) input to the queries that had been put forth on my concerns.

Hey .... no sweat. I'm not passing judgment on you. Do what you feel is morally right.
If it turns out to be the right program for you, support the developers by purchasing it.
Obviously, debating the ethics of cracked software around here is like beating a dead horse.
People will do what they want and can do, regardless.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and trust that you'll honor your word.

Crankz1,

I didn't mean for it to sound as if I took offense to anything you had said...because I didn't. I just wanted to offer a truthful explanation of my entire situation here - with equipment and software. This program (CubaseSX) has afforded me the opportunity to delve into its "FULL" workings, and I am really loving it. Now, some might think "Why would he go out and purchase the program, when he already has a full working copy"? Well, the answer to that is simple: First off, I wouldn't buy this version but, rather, SX3 or SX4 (whichever is current when I am ready). Also, I would be eligible for upgrades & tech support. Yes, the program carries a pretty hefty purchase price, but it is (IMO) a small price to pay for something that enables one to do - from the comfort of their home - something that used to command a small fortune (to most people, anyway) to have done in a conventional recording studio, not so very long ago.

And again, thanks for everything.
