I'm looking for a working copy or original version of both Emu Ultra Version EOS OS4.61 & 4.7... The one's listed at Emu.com and most sites have invalid copies of both... Can anyone help me out here :(

Let me get this straight - Emu is posting invalid OS's for their gear on their web site? And you're a registered user, right?

Something is rotten in the State of Denmark...

What do you mean "invalid copies"? Also, what computer platform are you using? Do the files download okay but then when you create a disk image they aren't right?

These EOS disk images are intended to be burned onto floppy disks. So if you don't have a computer with a floppy drive you are out of luck. Also, on a Mac, I believe you might need an OS9 machine, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Anyway, the trick is to burn the disk image directly to a floppy without opening it up in your computer. There might be instructions on how to do this on the Emu website support page.

No registration is required to download these OS files, they are free for any Emu Ultra sampler user to download as they wish. However, you do need the sampler hardware for the OS to be of any use.

Also, it's a long shot, but you might try contacting Emu to see if they'll send you a floppy with the OS on it. There might be a small charge for it, but it would probably be worth it.

Finally, it's worth noting the OS 4.7 is a beta. I seem to remember there being some bug type issues with version 4.7, which is why 4.61 is still up on the web site.

I know this thread is pretty old but for what it's worth I recently updated my e6400 ultra from eos 4.02 to 4.61 using the downloads from e-mu and have had no problems. I used the flashprep disk as was recommended and made extra copies of the disks if anyone is interested. I also made copies of 4.7 if anyone is interested let me know. The whole update process took less than five minutes and other than having to readjust my screeen contrast I had no issues.

I've been meaning to upgrade my e5000 ultra. Using 4.0x now, and have an rfx I need to install but need the flashprep and newer eos on floppies. Using win7, even bought winxp mode and a usb floppy drive to try to get this to work.. but no joy. Ill send you a pm, would be nice to finally install this card and update my sampler.
