I'm been thinking about picking up the Emu 1820M soundcard, but before i get it i would like to know has anybody here used it, and what do they think of it. peace
I have an EMU 1212m, and can highly recommend it. Audio quality is great, I personally like the PatchMix software mixer, and its a very reasonable price. This added to the extra ins and outs of the 1820 breakout box would make for one great combination I think. The effects are really usefull too for playing around with and getting an idea of what they will sound like in a mix.
Hope that helps a bit... I can answer more specific q's about my 1212m if ya like.

The EMU cards shouldn't be a problem with Cubase or Sonar. Just use the ASIO drivers. Might do a search in the Cubase or Sonar forums on the new EMU cards - might be someone successfully using them together.
BTW...the E-mu cards are bundled with Cubase VST 5.1 (or Cubasis, as is the case with 1212 and 0404)...so yeah, it's perfectly fine with Cubase. I happen to use it with no problems in Sonar (ASIO drivers) myself.
