this better be stellar....lmao

lol.....trust me it'll be worth it. but i JUST uploaded it, so maybe it'll stream once it registers with nowhereradio..try in 10 min?

ok got it!..
nice giutar sound in the intro..those drums sound nothing if not completly real...nice ...man that screaming,..lol...the actual singing sounds great...maybe you could seperate the scream from the singing...somehow...i like the idea its just that are right on top of each other...and i would really like to hear the lyrics. a bit better?..i like the change at 2:20..nice feel to it..and the screaming is a bit buried there too....(not a bad thing)....i like the swelling up of the vox as they come in...this is a really cool song...and i get what your striving for here..there has to be a way to get seperation of those two vocal elements......im not sure how to do it.....hopefully someone else will....

UNLESS....this is exactly what you want it to sound like ..in which case ill say.....

COOL SONG.

hey man, exactly the kind of stuff i wanted to hear.

and YES i REALLY do wanna seperate those 2 vox a bit - but i havn't found a way to do it yet. I guess that i really dont know HOW to go about doing it, other then massive EQ...which i really dont want to do! (and i know i could pan, but i dont want to do that either!!)

so, any other tips? from anyone? haha.

thanks again though im glad you like it

and, what do you mean about the drums???

just if they are real..they sound great and if they arent ..great job on making them sound real...

awesome! haha. thanks then - they are real. This was my first time with some new drum mic experimenting.
i used all the inputs that i had to use, and tried to do what i could do just get it as close as possible to what they really sounded like. unlike my usual 2 overheads/kick/snare routine...

Hey man, I liked this.

This seems to be the year of "No Reverb," but I personally thought the vocals could have used some to make them blend a little better.

Anyway, "tres cool."

drums and guitar sound good ...

i agree on the reverb for the vocals ... i also think a little bit of panning could help give each vocal part its own space. there are parts in here where the backup vocals are panned significantly left and right, and to me, that sounds much better than when they are both right on top of each other in the center.

Sounds pretty good... kinda different for this genre... almost a sleepy production for a song that sounds more aggressive. Sleepy, but very clean.

Drums do sound pretty good.... would like a bit more click on the kick drum. Hats may be too loud.

There seem to be some timing problems in the drumming, but not too severe. It's nice to hear a mix that's not mashed up in my face.

If you're looking for a "fuller" sound here, look more to the arrangement -- I.E. more sustain in the guitars, more compression on bass... more "held notes" for the singer. Of course, there's the option of overdubs too. But this is a clean pup as is.

Some reverb (placed on the snare drum, & a touch on vox) could deepen this mix. Good job.

(EDIT-- btw scott... I've started saving your files under "shackrock--haha" instead of just "shackrock" :) Kind of like fenderlikingood's "peace rick" or theron's "peace theron" :) After a while, a poster's personality becomes one with their name :)... haha)

haha, thanks guys -and its funny that you mention that "haha" thing - because constantly everyone is telling me that i say "ha" in real life and on internet after everything! (ha...)

now back to the song..i DID put a touch of reverb on it - but i guess i dont know HOW to go about really putting some reverb on vox to make tem what i want. i have sonic foundry reverb and ntrack reverb - anyone know of some good articles to readup on this? or maybe just some tips/pointers?

thanks.

Love it.
Do you get Thrice and Hell is for Heroes in the states? Reminds me of the sort of stuff I'm really getting into lately.

Really really liked it, did think the vocals could have been a littel crowded with the shouting though, but on the whole cool.

Just as a by the way, why didn't you use distortion? any particular reason? The clean guitars really bring out the harmonies though. Its nice.

Neil

thrice owns me, i love em.

yeah no dist. on this one - just to change it up....i dont know.,

hah thanks though.
