Anyone use these for amp/instrument live performance micing? Cobalt Co4

Seems like a deal, I saw the specs and the frequency response seems decent - a little low on the low end compared to SM57s, but also read they were hotter, too.

Hotter than a SM57 but not as hot as a GLS57. Brighter sounding than an SM57. Seems to take eq ok (The SM57 is a real champ at this). Same applications as an SM57. Feels like a weapon when you hold it. If you don't already own SM57 mics, I would save up and purchase them first because you'll always be wondering . . .

I've got an SM57, but unfortunately, the capsule pulled right out the other night. Haven't looked on how easy/difficult it's going to be to reattach those wires!

Not too hard to be honest, but if I were to get another dynamic it'd be an audix i5 or Beyer m201 by reputation over a cobalt.

Contrary to popular belief, the SM57 is not indestructible, and the business end of the mic is its most vulnerable part---the top capsule wires do break, especially in head-on mishaps. The last time I had a capsule replaced in an SM57 is cost ~$60. If you're referring to the insulated wiring beneath the capsule, that is initially an easier solder job than the fine wires at the top of the capsule.

Everything I read today makes me think getting a GLS es57 (or 2) would be a better bet.

Yes, it's the 2 red insulated wires - I don't even see where they would attach, assume I will have to remove the whole guts of the mic to find out. BTW, my lead singer did drop the mic directly on its head Tuesday night before this happened.
