Electro Acoustic question

I'm looking to buy a cheap electro acoustic to play in my band. I don't know much about them, but I understand that I'll get a crappy sound through my normal amp, and I don't want to buy an acoustic amp - I already have to drag around shed loads of eqpt when we gig.

I plan to plug it straight into our pa. My question is, will I be able to get enough volume to be heard ? There will also be a lead guitar, bass, and vox playing, although only the vox goes through the pa at the moment. We play mostly rock covers.

Also - any recommendations for a guitar for around £200 (about $300 USD) ?

For that price, the Ovation Celebrity comes to mind. It has nice electronics that allows you to color your sound if required.

might try looking for a used guitar...

anything that says Fishman should work well for ya...
