I'm in Electrical Engineering undergradute and I'm thinking of doing my thesis on MIDI.

I'm interested in analog to digital coversion (converting guitar signal to midi notes). Where can I find good resources on this topic?

Surely you realize that converting a digitized guitar signal to a MIDI note is not a process of analog-to-digital conversion? You have to process the signal to deduce its pitch. It's often termed pitch-to-MIDI conversion.

Here's one paper I found out there on the topic:

some more possibly helpful and/or interesting articles:

Good luck with the project, it will be challenging...

AlChuck, that paper on pitch topic is so interesting. Learnt a few new info. Thanx!
