Electric piano w synth module or syth? Help

I am shopping for a nice keyboard, but am not a strong keyboard player.
Should I concentrate on the keyboard and effects as separate purchases, or look for one unit which does everything (nice keyboard touch, nice sounds, nice effects)?
Could someone give me some advice.
 
Whats your budget and what kind of sounds do you need?

My budget is up to 2.5 k, but may wish to spend less than that sum.
I am not sure about the sounds, as I do not know the choices well.
I would think: piano, some orchestra/choir, and sound effects as those I am most interested in presently.
I am new at this (a guitar player, but very passionate about my music hobby), so I do not know very much about the choices.

if you can go to 2.5k, a good 76 key controller and mid-range to high-end sound modules sound good.I happen to be a Roland man, so I have an A-37 for my keys. It's definitely not one of those controllers that mimics piano touch, but it's still solid. Experiment. For modules, how about an XV-5050 and a Proteus 2000 and/or a Yamaha Motif Rack? If you really do have a 2.5k ceiling, you can get all of that for just less than that. Choose 2 of the 3 to go well below 2000.

Or you can do the Ebay route and possibly get a decent keyboard and two older gen sound modules for 1000 mark. A Korg NX5R and Roland JV-1010 and/or an Alesis QSR...

As you can tell, I think it's good to have at least two sound sets from two different companies. They all have different qualities and biases...
 
with that kind of coin, you'd better try, try, try, and make sure you really like the sounds.
