I know we all play electric and acoustic guitars depending on what sound we might want, or if a particular song calls for one or the other. But overall, which are you more comfortable playing? Personally, I find the electric more comfortable.

I do probably 85% of my writing and playing on acoustic. I pretty much only play electric when I'm recording.

i like practicing on acoustic better, although to me playing electric seems easier.

I love acoustic guitar, and it is my first love as a player, but my hands simply can not handle it any more, so I've been playing mostly electric lately.

I've dated a few electrics but ended up marying an acoustic.

LOL...

I'm mostly an acoustic kind of guy, but am drawn to the dark side on occasion...

For playing out and recording, I probably use acoustic 75% of the time, and electric 25%. for writing, practicing, and just noodling around, I split the difference. I do most of it on an Epiphone Casino not plugged in. Then I get the electric ease of play, but I don't need to bother with an amp.-Richie

Although I play electric much more than acoustic,I'm equally bad at both. :o

The thinner bodies and contours of an electric seem to make them "hug up to your body," while the "box" feel of an acoustic seems a little clumsy feeling to me. Don't take me wrong, I love the sound of a well tuned good acoustic, I just prefer the feel of an electric. My solution was a compromise, for acoustic I have an old Kramer Farrington, it's like playing an acoustic Strat.

I mainly use an unplugged electric because my acoustic sucks ass and my amps getting fixed.

But I LOOOOOVE the feeling of my mates maton it's to die for I'd use that every day If I had it, actually I'm going over to kill him right now.

Chow.

I play electric for fingerstyle and strumming, and acoustic for divebombs and tapping

Mainly electric till i got my Maton 3 years ago and fell in love-need to blow the dust off that old tele sometime

ovation!

acoustic for me. an ovation actually.

i prefare playing the electric guitar...just cause i like the way it sounds more. i find some things more difiicult to play on acoustic (solos etc)... so i usualy practice on the acoustic guitar...cause after playing it for a while the electric seems a lot easier

Really depends on what I'm doing and what's going on around me.

If I'm trying to write a song or put together a set list, generally I'll work through it with my acoustic. For me, my acoustic (being a Taylor 614) does the simplest, most direct job of translating emotion in the playing into emotion in the sound. It removes all the other complications of the guitar settings, effects settings, amp settings, etc. and lets me just focus on the music.

When actually playing live, it always depends on whether we have a 2nd guitarist (on electric) or not. If we don't, then I'll play the whole thing on the acoustic. If we do have the other guitarist, then I'll switch between them, but probably spend more time on electric.
