Alright. Lets have this thread, make it a great thread, for those who want to learn what effects do what and how they work. PLEASE KEEP IT ALIVE. I think if we do this, it could be extremely useful. I was wondering, what does Compression do?? Ultra Maximizer?? How do Limiters work? Just post an effects or two, what they do, and if you'd like, where to use them.

I also have another problem. I click and crackled removered the hell outta my bass track on my newest song, and it worked, but now theres this wierd pulse click. How do you get rid of the clicking noise?? (kinda like the tempo noise in cubase).

Bruce - your "tool" poll doesn't make sense either. Everyone knows that you can use a screwdriver in place of any of those other tools.

I personally prefer the noise gate.
When I fall out of my chair after that 10th beer,
I don't get the massive feedback, because I'm gated
 
hammers. ...definitely. They release stress and give you an embarassing excuse for buying new equipment :D
