Hi,

I've recently started working with Logic 9.1.3 .. I'm running it on a 2.8GHz, intel core i7, 4 GB memory iMac. Logic seems to be running very slow. There is a two or three second delay when i press play and it also makes the rest of the computer to run very slow. I only have 7 tracks of Kontakt and EXS running so it shouldn't be that slow.

I suspect that my set up might be wrong .. Can someone recommend an effective set up ?

By set-up i mean how your Logic works with your iMac, if there any preferences that help logic run smoother or any extra hard drives for sample libraries etc ?

Thanks

Do you use multiple instances of Kontakt? That could be it. Check your memory consumption.

I'm all new to this lark - but if you can convert your midi tracks to audio - if they're 'nailed' - it frees up loads of cpu - but I too would love to see the 'default' set up for recording about 40 tracks, a mixture of midi (NI / EZ Drummer) and audio tracks through a Presonus Firestudio Mobile...

dear sirs, i have a question. i just started using logic express 9 and whenever i exit a plugin, i can't seem to call it up later on when i feel like changing the settings. example. i open up a software instrument track> i click hold on the input, i scroll down to the list of plugins and say i choose ultrabeat> then i now am able to plot my beats and then i drag the pattern to the track and all goes well.> however, when i click X to exit the plugin, i can't call it back out to the screen sometime later when i need to edit parameters or add a few more beats.

i tried clickhold, double click on the input (where it shows ultrabeat), i clickhold or double click on the mixer, on the track. it doesn't want to go back out. i updated my os, and logic. it's still the same problem. can you help me figure what to do please? thanks

Logic has a function that does this, but only temporarily. Right click on the track and enable "freeze." It frees up the same space, but you can unfreeze it later to edit it.
