Can an input be sent into the input of one fx unit, then out of the output to another input of another fx unit, then be routed back to a recorder?

if that was confusing:

recorder ==>fx in>out==>fx in>out==>recorder?

so for example, an echo on fx 1 and distortion on fx 2 would result in a distorted echo?

the units i am using (i havent either of them so i cant try) are a zoom rfx 1000 and a zoom g707 guitar fx. i think its the 707.

cheers.

 you are using them but you don't have them???

anyway, yeah, you could do that....

cool, I have the gfx707 as well and plan to get the RFX2000 as my studio effect.

Does your recorder have two effects ins? If so, you don't need to muddle the signal of one unit into another unit; just use both effects boxes and adjust the signals the way they sound best through your monitors.

I have two effects units hooked up to my MD8 and I can use both or just one on any channel.

Now that I have the DAW 2816 by Yam, I guess the effects boxes will stay hooked to the MD8 as the DAW has its own effects.

You can run ins into outs into ins and into something. But, what you may get, I don't know.

my intention

i dont have the resources (cash) to buy them, and i am finding out if it is worth buying them. if i cant do one of the main things i want to do, i wont get them. see?

thanks any way, but my whole point is this:

say i want an echo on my vox, but i want the echo to have (lets say) a flange effect, but not the original dry vox. so i will end up with vox + flanged echo. can it be done the way i said?

i will be using a tascam 414mk11 with two effects sends. so i see what your saying, but then both effects would alter the original dry vox rather than the second effect affecting just the wet mix.

this is really hard to type rather than say...

Yo MUK:

Suggestion. Maybe you can get to a store and ask a salesman to hook up two FX units and see if you can get what you want before you open your wallet?

I have one FX unit, a MidiVerb3 and it is programable. I can alter the preset a number of ways. I also have several flanged presets to choose from. By the way, excuse my lack of knowledge but What is a VOX? Keyboard or guitar or what?

Best bet, I think, is to get a demo before you buy. Or, stop into a professional studio and ask someone. Or contact a site where a pro will give you the answer. Most likely, someone here would know, like Ed or Blue Bear.

Good luck,

I have a Zoom gfx707, GREAT for begginers, and I'll tell you if you buy it, you won't need the other unit, since you can edit the effects until you get almost exactly what you want...
And yes I've succesfully combined echo + distortion, wah + delay + distortion (A favorite), flanger + distortion (Jet-like action), and it has other cool effects like an emulation of a talk box, and pitch shifter...

Good luck, If you buy the unit and need help I'll be able to help the first person for the first time :) how sweet hehe...
