Hi,

I run on sonar 3.0, I would like to know if there is an effect that doubles the voice.

Regards,

Thierry

harmonizer? doubling how? you can double the same voice by cloning the vocal track and that can double the voice...for a little stereo effect slightly move the cloned vocal track and that should work

Thierry-

In my opinion and an fyi-

I've been going through this alot and no matter how hard it is, real human doubling can turn out better than you might think.

After a few (or many) times you'll get it close. But the human doubling sounds like an effect, in a way...

so,
Do you want to double something for volume or for effect?

Vocal Doubling

You can get a doubling sort of effect if you add a 30ms delay or maybe a chorus with a slow shallow sweep. Of course the best way to get thick vocal is to actually sing the track again and then even again. That way you don't need any effects and it is easier to mix.

Like every thing else, there is always more than one-way to do things and this is no exception. Cloning the track is 1 way; it’s the easiest way IMO. However, when you do that I agree with distortedrumble, you should move (pan) the cloned track so that it doesn’t sit right under the original. This will give the track a feel of being wider and more full. The amount you pan is purely dependant on your taste and the song.

Setting up a multi-tap delay is sometime interesting.

Cloning a track has the exact same effect as a chorus effect.

The only way to attain the rich thick beautiful sound of a real vocal double, is a real vocal double.

When I record heavy music with LOUD singers, verses are singles or doubles.. choruses triples to quintuples.
