Educational Institutions In Canada

Another question...Anyone here know of the best institutions in Canada for Audio Producing/Engineering?

I have come accross 3 in Ontario, Canada:

Trebas
Harris Institute for the Arts
Recording Arts Canada


Are there any others?

Please, any info would be great, more schools...

Plus, if any of you have gone to these schools it would be a bonus if you could give me some feedback on their eduction, and your experience in general.

Sorry, but I don't understand. I have check BBU and there isn't anything that I could see that had to do with educational programs. And what is this "Yo Home of Marlin Perkins"?

Please elaborate.

LOL...Oh sorry, I never watched Wild Kingdom. I did a search in Yahoo for this Marlin Perkins character and it gave me a bunch of animal results...I thought maybe you were a tad on the high side.

But I see now. Not sure that BB has a university...if he does he doesn't want to tell anyone ;)

...I've asked the same problem about the signature. It's not your problem only. I'm not sure what's wrong, it's been a new server running this BBS (moved on November 2002). There may be an error in the database... Or maybe Dragon just has some good reason to disabled it... I'm not sure.

Please...someone, please give me some info or a place where I might find trustworthy information about Canadian institutions.

However, I do not know if they do any music stuff; you might check.

I used to date a chick who wound up teaching there, McGill or McGil I think, after she married somebody else.

Fletcher mentioned George Massenburg teaches at McGill (which surprised me)........

how about out west eh...

yeaaaaa...Im looking to delve into this full time if I can somehow someway...I saw a real cheapo course on live sound engineering at Axe music...for like 200 or 300$...that has to be really basic, but Im considering it for the simple reason its hands on, (i seem to have this thing I read lots but only absorb about 5 %, what a drag, cause I have read a ton on the net so far.)

But yes is there any such thing as a strictly dedicated school of Audio (in canada preferably) out there?...with some direct leads into the business of it all?

(Snow ha!...its damn near bone dry here, has been all winter...hahahahahahahahaha I love Canada)

Yo badassmak!...everyone is saying the educational institutions are a rip...just to self educate and work/volunteer in recording studios seems to be the consensus among the guys here -- which I have to say makes perfect sense! I was personaly hoping for some co-op education in the field, that is why I wanted a to go to a school.

And that reading problem you have...LOL -- I think all of us have that ;)

Hey...f@ck it all...maybe you and I should crack a recording studio open ourselves! ;) That's what Daniel Lanois did!
