Hi yall...
I have some midi drum loops that came with my Drumkit From Hell cd. For anyone who doesnt know what Im talking about there is a ton of beats and fills most of them only play for about 3-6 seconds. Im using Pro Tools and I wanted to grab one of the beats and loop it and chop it up and edit abunch of them together. The problem is that I dont seem to be able to chop up midi tracks in the same way you can with an audio track in Pro tools. Is there a program I need to do that, cause I also want them to line up in beat too...

you'll need a midi to wav converter or just rip/record the midi file to a wav file and loop it in fruity loops or other sequencer software...

cooledit pro works very well at hacking a wav file, i would think protools would also, but i have no experence with the applacition...

Yeah I have already taken a midi track routed it to the Aux track then routed the aux track to a Audio track and recorded it. The problem in Pro tools is that then I have to manually line up the beats from one section to the other...and it always seems like its off just a little bit. Any recomendations on a simple program or method to line up the beats?

acid vegas or 4 should do what you want...

peace, mcfly...
