I am recording a song thats got a bunch of guitar parts that consist of 8ths notes that I would like advice on editing. The tempo is fast enough that the notses blend together and its hard for me to see where to edit. Is there some type of plugin, such as Elastic Audio in Protools, that can help me push the notes that are a little off into place? I record with a Line 6 Toneport and REAPER. Thanks!

There is a reaper tutorial video that shows how to do this. The trick is to record not just the sound coming from your line 6 1/2 input but also asio stream 3 or 4

Lock the two recordings together with the G key in reaper. You will notice the stream 3 ( which will be clean) is as obvious and easy to edit as a set of snare drum hits, not the dookie of destruction that the distorted tracks look like.

As a side bonus, this will force you to work on your picking and tell you a LOT about how you are playing, you will see just how accurately you hit the strings on the clean part and you will see a lot lot lot lot about your dynamics

hit reaper chat if you need any realtime help with this
