editing audio track

recorded the bass for a song yesterday and only just noticed that the first bass note comes in a little late. how can i move this note back a fraction or two? the rest of the track is fine. im using cubase

With the scisors tool cut between the first and second notes, taking care you cut it right where the first note ends, and the second note begins, then nudge/move the first note to the left to line up.

If there is a silence or pause between the first and second notes, this will be even easier. If not, you may need to do a bit of trickery to make it work. Also, you may want to zoom in on the track to be able to make a clean cut. I'd recommend you work it the Project/Arrange window for this.
