editing aiff files

Someone has sent me a dvd with some radio shows on it for me to edit and they are in aiff format. I normally edit mp3s and WAVs and Cool Edit won't open the aiff files, dbpoweramp also won't convert them, even though I have installed the aiff codec. Forgive me if I'm being stupid but I have tried every option I can think of for the last hour and searched a lot too. The only option I can think of left is to play them in winamp and re-record them on cool edit but we're talking about 30 hours worth of audio here so I really don't want to do that.

I think Krystal Audio will do it...and its free...just do a web search on Krystal audio
 
Adobe audition 1.5 will open AIFF files. Download the trial version, open the files and save them as Wav files.
