Just copped the 880 and am trying to hook it up but my "vision" is not working at all. Need some help.

gear im trying to hook up is:

roland xv 5080
mpc 1000
ensoniq halo(keyboard)
---to---
edirol um-880
---to---
audiophile 2496

I would like the mpc to be the controller for the other two, also if i can stay away from using usb that would be a plus. I'd rather use the ports i have for other things especially considering that the 2496 has midi hook-ups.Any help (or diagrams :) ) would be helpful, thanks!!!!!

I just got myself a UM-880 yesturday. But I don't have any units for it to control. So, I'll take a stab at this, since I right now just use one controller that runs to my computer via-USB, and have everything else hooked up for setting back-ups and crap.

But I think you want to do is:
Press Patch, press the input number of the controlling unit, then you press the output corresponding with the units you'd like that controller to, uh, control.

So, lets say you have:
MPC on ch 1.
Roland XV ch 2.
halo ch 3.
Audiophile Ch 4.

Press Patch,
Press Input 1,
Press Output 2,
Press Output 3.
Press Output 4

The MPC being used as controller on ch 1. should now be transmiting midi commands to output 2 (XV), and output 3 (halo), and ch 4. being sent to your DAW.

At least that's what I got out of the manual.

Have you even tried reading the manual?
