Has anyone else had any problems recording with the edirol ua20?

Whenever I make a recording little pops and clicks are added. I'm using Cool Edit Pro with Windows ME.

I read somewhere it might be something to do with the computer's internal clocks being out of sync but I have no idea how I sort that out

Edirol haven't been much help so I'm a bit stuck :(

having same problem

have you been able to sort this problem ?

i have just this weekend set up my computer recording "studio" and after doing my first test record using cakewalk sonar 5 the playback is full of pops and clicks. i followed the trouble shooting bit of sonar and reduced the pops and clicks by increasing the audio buffer but they didnt go away. Plus i think that means the latency is increased which isnt good.

i would be interested if you have solved your problem or if anyone can help also!

Cheers

It would be interesting to know if the pops and clicks are in the actual recordings or are just in the back ground while monitoring.

The reason I mention this is that I too can experience pops and click on my system (DDX3216, RME Hammerfall Light and Sonar 5) and at times they can get quite bad. I've not yet bothered to try and fix the situation because

a) up to now the recordings themselves do not actually contain the pops and clicks and
b) when ever I render a project to WAV, again, the pops and click never materialise in the WAV file.

Perhaps I'm just lucky, but my pops and click only appear to spoil the monitoring process and fortunately don't end up on finished tracks.

monitoring

I thin your right andy - they are only appearing in the monitoring process. which is good but on the other hand does become a hinderance when recording vocals etc as they are quite frequent and loud enough to put you off. in fact they are bloody annoying and i have only been using the edirol and sonar for 3 days!!

found an article on the edirol/roland site that i might try and follow later see if it helps - something about IRQ's.
