I am completely new to this recording malarky so please reply with this in mind!
I just bought the Edirol USB interface and installed everthing with it: SONAR 6 LE, Project5 LE and Dimension LE. First of all can someone tell me what programme does what exactly?
I also have Guitar Rig 3 which works fine... I think as I can plug in my guitar to the EDIROL and just play using the amp and effects simulators. I'm using headphones to listen to output btw.
I tried some basic recording using Audacity. To get any sort of sound from the guitar I need to record in stereo so the guitar is only coming through the right channel. Is there anyway about this? Will this be the same problem if I ever get SONAR to work? Also the recorded signal is not what comes out Guitar Rig 3. How can I change this?
I have been installing these programmes all over the place, how important is it to keep all the VST or whatever plugins installed a similar place? Do I need to install Guitar Rig 3 in a place where SONAR can recognise it as well?
