looking at purchasing an edirol ua-25 soundcard though am hearing that i may suffer crushing latency problems if i want to use a lot of soft synths (as the ua-25 is only usb 1.1). although i was interested primarily with recording live audio through the two mic inputs, the sheer beauty of some of these soft synths i've been hearing makes me think that i'll probably be using the old midi keyboard a hell of a lot more than i have previously
... i'm completely new to all this, but does this mean that if i've already recorded 4 tracks of synths and then try and record another soft synth track over the top that i'll be completely routed (i.e. so much latency that it'll be impossible to play along with any confidence and therefore entirely useless).
Or indeed, what about recording vocals using one of the mic preamp's whilst triggering a softsynth with a midi keyboard at the same time.
