Hello everyone,
I am a complete newbie when it comes to using a midi keyboard as a controller and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I purchased the Edirol PCR 30 because it had all the features I wanted and more. I have been using various equipment to record guitar and vocals but also want to add effects (electronica stuff...) and normal keys to my music. As a complete novice at using a controlling device I am a little stuck and can't seem to get the result I want. I have tried cakewalk but found it to be too complicated and didn't really get started with it.
Can someone give me some newbie advice in using this keyboard and possibly point me in the direction of a guide. The manual it came with is a little too advanced and although I understand a lot of the features I don't neccessarily need them or know how to use them.
My OS is Windows XP, the keyboard goes into the computer via the USB port and I have at my disposle N-track studio and Reason.
Please let me know what the best way to start is...
Many thanks in advance,
Simon
