Went into my local music store to pick up some monitors. I was planning on getting a set of Yorkville YSM1p's as they seemed to be pretty good for the price when I listened to them before. Anyway, the guy that helped me was pretty cool and seemed very knowledgable... from what I gathered at least. He told me all the pros and cons of each pair and everything he said seemed to match up identically with everything I've read on here about every different brand and model he showed me (yes, I've been reading for far too long about monitors). Then he shows me these little Edirol MA-20D monitors. Now admittedly I know these aren't supposed to be any good, but he showed me a variety of different CDs through them and demonstrated how to make them relatively flat sounding (which, obviously isn't amazing for $275 Canadian) but they sounded pretty good.
I'll get to the point: They were on sale so I ordered a pair. Now, I know these aren't a great brand and I've read all the threads I could find on the board about them. Anyone tried them out? Basically I'm just going to use them to mix acoustic guitar & vox. Think they'll work out well enough until I get a better set? Or should I just not bother, cancel the order and get the Yorkvilles like I had originally planned?
Sorry for the excessive message length.
