Do any of you guys own or are fimilar with this interface that can lend some assistance

I just got this today, its my first interface. I'm putting down some tracks in cubase sx3. The combi inputs 1 and 2 are called left and right. When I track the guitar in input 2 bcoz its got HI-Z its only coming out on the left speaker, same with the mic when using input 1 bcoz its got phantom thats only coming out on the right speaker. This is kind of obvious since each input is called L and R, but I never realised this would be an issue when I decided to buy and I cant get my head around the point of Edirol doing this

I want to track the instruments center so I can pan them later, I have had my head in the manual all day, I've been messing about with the drivers and the devices. I just can't get it to track center

I'm feeling a big regret buying this now and seriously thinking of sending it back

I'm sure this is something simple though, bcoz I cant see the point of this interface if it wont track center. I'm just not getting how to set it up and would really appreicate any help

Tks

Usually you get Channel 1 left/right/stereo options for input on your software. That controls what you record. You can record any of the three ways and then pan when you mix down. The left output is probably only headphones out...

Yeah, this is a DAW-specific issue, i.e. how you solve it depends entirely on what app you're using to record.

Generally speaking, when you are recording from only a single input, you do this by recording a mono track and specify that input by itself. If you're only hearing it through one side, that's because you're trying to record a stereo track, which means it takes input simultaneously from both channels 1 and 2.

If you record a pair of mono tracks instead of a stereo track, channel 1 will be on the first mono track and channel 2 will be on the second mono track. At that point, you can pan them individually in whatever way you want.
