If you had a choice which would you get?

I'm looking at getting either one..

thanks

be aware - if these are usb devices that people have had problems with usb.
it would help to list your computer configuration.
if you have a tower pc with pci slots a better solution imho is
a mixer like a yamaha mg feeding a delta sound card in a pci slot for example.
pci sound cards are more proven solutions.
search under my name. lots of posts on usb and other subjects that might be of interest to you before you make a purchase.
my saying as a puter engr is usb is for mice.

ok - the edirol is a firewire device. i have not used one.
the specs look good. but i would make sure that if you buy it you can send it back if you possibly get any problems with your particular pc confign.
(you didnt list what you have).
also i would like to draw your attention to the fact some people have had incompatibilities with some firewire chips in their pc's.
so you might want to check if its compatible with the particular
firewire features/chips in your pc.
but it sure looks good. ive never tried one.
the mobile pre is usb. it might work for you but i would be cautious again
due to people having usb problems. from what ive seen of usb so far its a good idea when operating a usb sound solution to not run any other usb
unit at the same time to leave audio free to do its thing.
as i said - firewire and usb are newer protocols. while pci is older and more proven.
peace.

i pity you - smile !
go look at an amd 64 laptop sometime if you want real multitrack power.
peace.
