I recently ordered a combo from 8thstreet.com which included two ecm8000s, two boom stands, and two cables. Everything works properly but the mic holder for the ecm8000 is way too small of a hole to fit into the boom stand. Did anyone order the same thing and have a similar problem? Does anyone know what to do?

Use a coin to unscrew the center of it.

I bet your probably both glad and embarrassed to hear that. But it's happened before recently.

yeah. happened to me... mine were screwed in REALLY tight... not wanting to break them, i asked here... so i unscrewed harder and they came loose!

I first ran into this problem when I got my Neumann KM184, I was so excited to get this mic, I ran home early from work to meet the UPS man, took the thing out and was p*ssed that it wouldn't fit on the stand. Luckily Mercenary Audio (where I got the mic from)was still open, so I called them and they told me what to do, but dang, did I have a panic attack. :)
When I got my ECM8000s last month, I knew what to with those pesky clips!

Enjoy your mics!

It's the difference between european and american mic stands... Those mics are all from european companies, so they got the 'convertor'-thingy screwed in. We don't have any problem with that. It just fits on our stands. It's really you guys that are causing the trouble... :p

using those oddball euopean nuts, an allthread piece that fit the inside, and a piece of hose. I designed a mic stand adapter to hold both mics on only one stand.

You do need a mic clamp as well.

You just get an all thread about a foot long, put a piece of hose about 11" 1/2 long , screw the nuts on each end to snug down the hose, mount mic adapters on each side, use the clamp to hold it on the stand.
