"echoing effect"

hello...I am sure there is an easy answer to this question...so here it is...I am using Acid Pro 4.0 and trying to record some simple acouistic tracks...but...at random times I get a echo effect occurring when I listen to the track, ie.. one down beat is repeated. Sometimes this will occur once or more times in the same track or none at all.. any ideas would help thanks..its really starting to get to me

You might have better luck in the computing recording and soundcards section....

The first thought that crosses my mind (without having ever used that particular software) is that perhaps there's some weird glitch occurring due to too much CPU overhead. Try using a larger buffer size for the audio hardware, maybe....
