i have been asked to record a speech by some one, and the room it will be in has a verry hollow echoy sound. i was curios if you all had any segestions as to a mic i should use that would cancel out any echo, or minimalize it to produse a good full sound.

Based on your grammar and spelling, you very well might be a troll. But, I'll bite.

If the room itself sounds that way, a mic isn't going to change it. If you use a cardiod mic on the speaker, the sound will be minimized, especially the closer to the speaker you can get to cancel out the room noise. A dynamic mic will be less sensitive than a condensor as well.

The key would really be getting the mic as close to the speaker as possible (if they're at a podium you can just put it up there like a penis next to their mouth).

You can't make the room reflections go away, but you can make the voice louder relative to the reflections, either by moving the mic closer or by focusing the pickup pattern. I'd close mic it (lavalier or podium mic) if you can. Failing that, shotgun mic, or better yet, parabolic.

Also remember that when the room is full, it will be a lot less live. People add tons of absorption. It may not be as bad as you think it will.

well said, thats what I would do, because you obviously couldnt treat the room (for one speech, screw that)
