I have been looking into getting the Echo MIA Midi card. One thing I noticed is that the sample rates are doubles of each other. For example, you can record at 44.1 KHz or 88.2 KHz, 48 KHz or 96 KHz. I like the idea or having a 96 KHz sample rate, but if it is ultimately going to CD (44.1KHz), doesn't it make more sense to record at a multiple of that? Won't that reduce unwanted effects when you convert to 44.1KHz?

That's what I do... Admittedly, when A/B-ing both, I really can't hear a difference between 88.2 & 96...

Other than that, I'm much more impressed by the difference between bit-depth (word length) than sample rate...
