I've got a room approx. 15x20 with three doors along one long side evenly spaced, sliding glass door along the opposing long side, window in middle of one of the shorter walls, and door 1/3 of the way off center in the other short wall.

I was hoping to remove the 8' ceiling and open it up to the rafters above it, but my contractor is telling me that it is looking quite expensive, with a lot of extra bracing required.

So, I am about to have a room with a tile floor, rectangular walls, and a low (8') ceiling. Darn!

John, in one post you said to a guy with a 7' ceiling that you would just cover it with 703 and make it "dissapear". Should I do that in my case? How thick -- 2", 4"?? Would I cover the entire ceiling, or do it in a pattern? When I plug the numbers into the sabine calculator from studiotips.com it seems like covering the whole ceiling would reduce my RT60 too low. Help!

Thanks,

Randomly over the ceiling in 2". You caould aslo alternate 2 x 4 panels with ethan's panel absorbers maybe.

BTW have you compared the studiotips calc with the SAE one??

cheers
