Hey,

I have been wanting to buy an Echo Audiofire 2, but when I contacted a store nearby if they had any in stock they replied that no Echo products are in production and that they only had a Gina and an Audiofire 12 left. Is it true that Echo is out of business? :( I really wanted an Audiofire 2 for the quality/price and I don't need more i/o. Is there another interface that is very similar in quality and price that you could recommend me? I am a bit hesitant buying an audio interface which drivers will not be further updated and t the absence of customer support. I havent tried to contact Echo, which I think I should do :) but I wanted to buy my interface today so I hope you can help me. Or should I still buy an Audiofire 2 if I can find one?

Thanks in advance,

Lotte

Seems like I recall the same thing happening with them a year or two ago? Then they pulled through I guess.

Kinda harsh, but if you dont have faith in the company whose product you want to purchase, I'd look elsewhere (just my 2c).

Theres plenty of firewire interfaces on the market now. Try Presonus, MOTU, RME... (I'm sure there's others too).

:) Well I went and ordered it from Germany. I think the store i asked just got it wrong. Not a month ago Echo updated all their drivers and they released some new laptop interfaces. I hope it works out :)

Thanks anyway :) (Moto is too much i/o and expensive for me and I have mixed feelings about Presonus)

No, thats BS. I'm a very large Echo dealer here at ADK, and we just got in stock yesterday including Audiofires (4's and 12's if I recall) as well as some other stuff from them. Most of it had been on backorder and we had oprders waiting for it. They're bad about holes in their production runs, so a certain item may be hard to get from time to time.

Were they on the verge a couple years ago??
I swear I remember reading about it (here I beleive from several people) and their website was down, and nobody was answering their phones... Obvisouly if that *was* true they've recovered...

glad to hear they're still doing ok.

If I recall (lots to remember between now and then) I think they moved locations and had some logistics issues.

Gotcha. That makes sense.

Where is south Cincy? Newport? Covington?

ADK is located in Alexandria (down 27 from NKU) I myself live in Erlanger after living north of town for mostly my whole life.
