Bring Back Transfat!
I had hoped to see a "slap back" delay in the lineup on this new dijitek wunder-stomper, but the only thing close is a "ping pong".
Are their time settings/parameters that I could set to get a single immediate signal echo?

If not, what's a good stomp-box that can do this? I hate to even ask, but.......what did Eddie use on the first albums?

Grip,
I suppose what I am going to say is obvious.........but if the unit has a basic delay available, can you reduce the feedback and delay times to get slapback "to taste". Oddly enough, I usually use my ears for that type of delay rather than taking note of the parameter settings.

Try using and old anolog delay. I can't think of the model number, but its an old Ibanez in a fushia metal casing that I use-early '80's era. Morley has an Emerald Echo that does well also. It sells for about $75 new. You'll need to play around with the controls a bit. If you get to delay too short and the repeats too long it will sound like crap and the signal mix should be a bit past half way.

Thanks for all the advice guys.
Gidge, as always has the link to good stuff. Now I can read how Eddie was getting that grungy sound with that slap-back.

Ausrock, I was able to kill the feedback, bring the time down to 200ms, and set the threshold about midway, and wallah!
Now I get this immediate, single bounce back like I wanted.
The trick is experimenting with all the knobs and settings.
Some are fairly suttle so it takes a full knob swing to see what's being altered.
I'm not familiar with a lot of this stuff, so tinkering is the key.

So many toys, so little time! ;)
